Matcha Protein Smoothie (Clean & Balanced)

Ceremonial Matcha Recipe

Matcha Protein Smoothie

Clean energy, balanced sweetness, and a creamy texture — built with ceremonial matcha and a simple protein base. No dessert vibes. Just smooth, bright, and satisfying.

High-protein · Not overly sweet · Smooth & vibrant

The approach

Matcha-forward. Protein-supported.

The best matcha smoothie tastes bright and clean — not like a sugar bomb. We keep sweetness subtle (banana does most of the work), add protein for balance, and blend with ice for a cool, creamy finish.

Tip: dissolve matcha in a splash of water first. It blends smoother and keeps the color vivid.

The essentials

Ingredients & Ratio

This formula stays clean and balanced: one banana for sweetness, protein for stability, and matcha for bright focus. Adjust liquid for thickness.

Core

1 frozen banana
2 g ceremonial matcha (≈ 1 tsp, heaped)
1 scoop protein powder (vanilla or unflavored)

Frozen banana = sweetness + thick texture (no extra sugar needed).

Liquids

180–240 ml milk of choice (dairy, oat, almond)
30 ml water (to dissolve matcha)

Use less milk for a thicker smoothie, more for a lighter sip.

Optional boosters

1 tbsp chia or flax
1 tbsp Greek yogurt (or coconut yogurt)
Pinch of salt + ¼ tsp vanilla

Add only one booster at a time to keep it clean and balanced.

How to

The ritual steps

Smooth matcha first, then blend. This keeps the texture clean and the color vivid — no green speckles, no clumps.

1
Dissolve matcha
In a small cup, whisk or froth 2 g matcha with 30 ml water until completely smooth. (Cool water is fine here — you’re blending.)
2
Blend
Add frozen banana, milk (180–240 ml), protein powder, and the matcha mix to a blender. Blend until silky (about 30–45 seconds).
3
Adjust texture
Too thick? Add a splash of milk. Too thin? Add a few ice cubes and blend again.
4
Serve
Pour and enjoy immediately for best texture. Optional: top with a tiny pinch of matcha or shredded coconut.
Troubleshooting
Too sweet?
Use ½ banana or swap banana for ½ avocado + a few ice cubes (still creamy, less sweet).
Tastes “protein-y”?
Choose a more neutral protein (unflavored or light vanilla) and add ¼ tsp vanilla + a pinch of salt.
Green speckles?
Dissolve matcha first (Step 1). Sifting also helps if your matcha clumps.
Want it extra clean?
Use unsweetened milk and unflavored protein, and keep boosters minimal (choose one).
Blend
Clean fuel — the matcha way

Ceremonial matcha + a simple protein base = a smoothie that feels balanced, bright, and easy to drink — not dessert-sweet.

Serving note Dissolve matcha first for the smoothest blend and the cleanest color.

Clean & balanced — with ceremonial matcha at the center.
